The Nigerian men Handball team has crashed out of the 2016 African Men Handball Championship after losing their final group game to Algeria.
Nigeria defeated Gabon, after losing their first two games at the Championship, to rekindle hope of qualifying for the second round of the competition.
Nigeria, who had earlier lost 16-24 to Cameroon and 34-20 to hosts, Egypt, lost 31-23 to Algeria on Tuesday.
The result has seen Nigeria not only crash out of the Championship, but automatically lose out in the race for a place at the Rio Olympics and the 2017 World Handball Championship.
Meanwhile, the quarter-final schedule of the 2016 African Men’s Handball Championship will be: Angola against Morocco, Tunisia against Cameroon, Algeria tackling DR Congo, and Egypt battling Congo Brazzaville.
