The Herald reports that the parade was held at the forecourt of the Presidential Villa, Abuja, and was attended by President Bola Tinubu and other top government functionaries including the Vice President, Kashim Shettima, President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio; the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Abbas Tajudeen, Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila and the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), George Akume.
Others are the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Olukayode Ariwo-Ola, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, and the nation’s service chiefs.
Diplomats from various countries, including those of the United Kingdom (UK), Morocco, India, Turkey, Burundi, Ireland, Cape Verde, Cote d’Ivoire, Argentina, Poland, South Africa, and Kenya were also in attendance.
During the event, President Tinubu took the national salute after which he inspected the abridged guards on parade mounted by the members of the nation’s armed forces, signed the anniversary register, cut the cake, and released white pigeons into the open air.
