Governor Abubakar Bello of Niger has condoled with the government and people of Nasarawa state over the death of the state chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC), Mr Philip Shekwo.
Bello in a condolence message by his Chief Press Secretary, Mrs Mary Noel-Berje, in Minna on Monday, expressed shock over the sad incident, describing the deceased as a peaceful, committed and dedicated party leader.
“His death is unfortunate, but God is not unaware. He allowed it for a purpose. May God comfort the immediate family, the APC members and the entire people of the state,” he said.
The governor prayed that God Almighty will grant the family of the deceased the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Shekwo was kidnapped on Nov. 21 at his residence after which his corpse was found few metres away from the residence.
The state chapter of Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), has also commiserated with the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Mrs Mary Noel-Berje, over the death of Shekwo, who was her brother in-law.
Hajiya Rabi Bello, the state NAWOJ Chairperson said this in a statement in Minna and prayed God to grant the deceased eternal rest and the family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
