Nicki Minaj’s husband, Kenneth Petty, has been sentenced to 120 days of home detention following his threatening remarks towards rapper Offset on social media.
Documents obtained by ET revealed that Petty was recorded making threatening statements towards a specific individual while in the company of an individual with a criminal record. This incident led to a court order filed in the Central District of California mandating 120 days of home detention for Petty.
The judge’s decision aims to closely monitor Petty’s activities during this period. As part of the monitoring process, Petty may be required to wear an electronic GPS ankle bracelet, although this aspect has yet to be finalized.
The recorded videos, filled with expletives, were shared on social media on September 16 and featured Petty and two other individuals standing on a New York City sidewalk, repeatedly referencing Offset. Petty’s threatening statements included remarks such as, “You plan that vacation, you’ll be planning your funeral.”
Kenneth Petty has a history of criminal convictions, including attempted rape and attempted murder, leading to multiple prison stints. In 2022, he was sentenced to three years of probation for failing to register as a sex offender in California.
