Current PFA Player of the Year, Chelsea’s N’Golo Kante fainted in front of shocked teammates on Friday, ahead of the league champions’ trip to Manchester City on Sunday, reports in England have claimed.
According to the Daily Telegraph, Kante fainted at the club’s Cobham training ground in South West London, with teammates fearing that he had had a heart attack.
A team doctor was said to have approached the France international within seconds of slumping to one side.
Although he was cleared to play in the game after cardiology tests, the 26-year-old felt unwell on Sunday morning and was rested against Pep Guardiola’s side.
The league champions lost the game courtesy of a Bernardo Silva game.
Kante has played 38 games for club and country this season, with many believing exhaustion had an effect on the player’s incident.
He has however returned to training on Monday and is expected to be available for selection against Crystal Palace at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.
