NFF To Renew Keshi’s Contract

2 Min Read

AFCON 2013 winning coach, Stephen Keshi, is set to put to pen a new contract as the Super Eagles handler.

The President of the Nigeria Football Federation, Amaju Pinnick, also confirmed this to the media after the executive board meeting of the NFF held in Lagos on Thursday.

According to Pinnick, the eggheads of the Glass House has resolved that the coach continues in his capacity as the senior national team handler but must submit himself to the NFF’s technical committee.

He said: “Keshi has done pretty well with the national team. He has brought smiles to the faces of Nigerians and we believe he deserves some respect.”

“So, we have agreed to offer him a new contract.

“We have also agreed that he (Keshi) must work in tandem with the technical committee on matters such as invitation of players into the national team and monitoring of the players in their various clubs in Europe and I can bet you that it won’t be business as usual in our national team.”

Pinnick however declined to state the details of the new contract, assuring that it will be made public when all the grey areas are taking care of.

Keshi, who is currently holidaying in Benin, Edo State, is expected to put pen to paper in Abuja next week.
