Newly-elected NFF president Amaju Pinnicnk who was also recently acknowledged and congratulated by FIFA president Sepp Blatter has asked Nigerians to be calm and expect better results from his administration.
The Delta state football head said this in an interview with ChannelsTV; he vowed to improve the football standard in the country and also promised to groom a world class football referee here in Nigeria.
Amaju chipped in a few words on current Eagles coach Stephen Keshi, but wasn’t precise on the possibility of him(Keshi) continuing as head coach.
“We want to improve the quality of officiating in Nigeria. I want to see a Nigerian referee officiate a world cup game,
even if my administration doesn’t win any trophy, Nigeria must improve it’s referees,” he said.
“We’ll do everything in the best interest of Nigerians,” he promised.
On Keshi:
“Keshi? He’s has reached his limit and must build his capacity. But he should be shown respect because he’s a national hero.
“There are due processes towards appointing a coach and the technical committee will have to give a report before we decide.”
