The Jigawa State Police Command has launched investigations into the brutal murder of a newlywed woman and a 14-year-old almajiri, whose headless body was found in Gwaram Local Government Area.
The command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Shi’isu Adam, disclosed this in a statement on Thursday in Dutse.
According to the statement, the first incident involved a 22-year-old woman, Zainab Ibrahim, who was found unconscious in a pool of blood at her matrimonial home in Warware Quarters, Hadejia LGA.
“The Hadejia Divisional Police Officer led a team to the scene, where they discovered a deep cut on her throat,” Adam stated.
Zainab was rushed to General Hospital Hadejia, where she was pronounced dead. Authorities have begun investigations to track down those responsible.
In a separate incident, the police discovered the mutilated and headless body of a 14-year-old almajiri, Bashir Adamu, along the Jikas-Dabaja village road in Gwaram LGA.
Relatives identified the body, reporting that Bashir had been missing for two days.
“We suspect the boy was killed by ritualists, and investigations are ongoing to apprehend the culprits,” Adam added.
The Jigawa State Police Command reassured the public that all efforts were being made to uncover the motives behind the killings and ensure justice is served.
