Following strong indication of the Boko Haram group leader, Abubakar Shekkau’s replacement, the new Boko Haram group leader has promised to spare Mosques or Markets used by Muslims.
The new Boko Haram leader Abu Musab al-Barnawi was the former spokesman of the group before his elevation as contained in an Arabic- language newspaper, al-Nabaa.
According to the publication, Abu Musab al-Barnawi was identified as the new ‘Wali’, a title bestowed only on the Islamist Jihadist group’s former leader, Abubakar Shekau who had directed the affairs of the group since 2009.
The Boko Haram group in a newly released message however said: ‘You should know that there is no truce, there is no negotiations, there is no surrender,’ an unidentified masked man in camouflage said in a prepared script in Hausa, the dominant language in the north, in the video posted on YouTube. ‘This war between us will not stop.’
