President Muhammadu Buhari has debunked reports that Mamman Daura, his nephew, is one of those who reportedly has the President’s ear and calls the shots at the Villa.
It will be recalled that the President’s wife, Aisha Buhari had earlier alleged that some powerful people had taken over her husband’s government.
According to The Cable, “Daura is the son of Buhari’s elder brother, but since Daura is three years older, the president is ‘awkwardly’ his uncle.”
Buhari, who was asked if it was true that his nephew called the shots in the presidency, said, “I don’t know where they get their news from.”
“I stood for the election, I visited every local government in Nigeria, I travelled by road, by air, and so on, and we had one of the most credible election. So whoever feels he has lost somehow is his own problem, I have no problem,” he said.
Buhari later slammed his wife for saying his government had been hijacked by powerful people, stating that she belongs in the kitchen.
Speaking on those agitating for a Biafra nation, the President asked the aggrieved people to join his party (APC), so that they can win elections and make their point in a democratic way.
