Former South African President, Nelson Mandela has been discharged from the hospital today and is to continue further management as an out-patient.
Mandela has being constantly in and out of the hospital since December, 2012, when his gall bladder was surgically removed.
His recent admission to the hospital on March 27 was due to Pneumonia, a deadly lungs infection with high rate of death amongst the elderly.
In today’s statement of his discharge, President Zuma thanked the medical team and hospital staffs for looking after Mandela, and expressed gratitude for South Africans and people around the world who had shown support for Mandela.
