The Nigeria Communication Commission (NCC) has stated that they are set to release new prices for data in the nearest future.
This information was disclosed by the Executive Vice Chairman of the NCC, Professor Umar Danbatta
Danbatta was speaking during his induction as a Fellow of the Nigeria Academy of Engineering (NAE) last week.
According to Danbatta, the NCC have finalised a new framework which is expected to allow telecommunication companies to partake in spectrum sharing.
He said, “With the new framework, you can transfer, lease and share your spectrum.
“These recent achievements of the commission will ensure optimum utilisation of spectrum,” he said.
Danbatta also told newsmen that the recognition by NAE would encourage the NCC in its attempts to help boost the Nigerian economy with its endeavours
“This recognition will be a testimony of our relevance not only within Nigerian universities but across borders,” he said.
Also speaking at the occasion was the outgoing President of NAE, Professor Oluwaseun Maduka, who said that the investiture should be a reminder that advancement of engineering education and practice was the way forward.
Maduka said that the advancement would be achievable through continuous learning and strategic collaborations with relevant professional associations and industry.
