The Nigerian Communications Commission has donated four Computer Based Test (CBT) centres to the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board.
This was disclosed by Acting Executive Vice Chairman, Prof. Umar Danbatta, in Abuja when JAMB officials led by its Registrar, Prof. Dibu Ojerinde, paid him a courtesy visit.
According to Prof. Danbatta, the four centres are located in Niger, Kano, Bayelsa and Oyo states.
He further said that the centres have been equipped with computers, printers, internet connectivity and other essential equipment.
In the same vein, the EVC said the NCC is looking to go beyond the provision of CBT centres for JAMB but will also provide equipment for tertiary institutions through Advance Digital Appreciation Programme for Tertiary Institutions (ADAPTI).
Prof. Danbatta said the ADAPTI is geared towards bridging the digital divide in tertiary institutions through the provision of ICT facilities for lecturers to improve their ICT skills.
In his response, JAMB’s Registrar, Prof. Ojerinde appreciated the effort of the NCC in the provision of the CBT centres, while stating “we ask for more.”
