NBA YoungBoy Pleads Guilty in Utah Prescription Fraud Case

1 Min Read

American rapper NBA YoungBoy has pleaded guilty to charges related to his involvement in a prescription fraud ring in Utah. On November 18, 2024, he admitted to two counts of third-degree felony identity fraud, two counts of third-degree felony forgery, and six counts of misdemeanor unlawful pharmacy conduct.

Initially facing 46 state charges, YoungBoy entered a no-contest plea for 36 additional charges. As part of his plea deal, the four felony charges were reduced to Class A misdemeanors, resulting in a $25,000 fine and no prison time. Judge Spencer Walsh opted for leniency, citing YoungBoy’s existing 27-month federal prison sentence and five-year probation term.

The prescription fraud scheme involved YoungBoy impersonating a doctor to obtain large quantities of prescription drugs. Authorities alleged that he used real people’s names and birthdates to call in prescriptions, which were then picked up by his associates.

YoungBoy still faces an unresolved federal gun case in Louisiana. Despite his legal troubles, he plans to release a new album, “I Just Got a Lot on My Shoulders,” on December 6.
