Sani made the call during a peace and security meeting on Wednesday at Doma local government council secretariat.

He said that the fight against insecurity and criminality would yield more effective results if security agencies, religious groups, traditional institutions and other stakeholders supported the efforts of government.

The chairman expressed worries that some communities in the area were facing daunting security challenges, saying, “we need everybody to join hands to stamp out this menace.

“Some communities under this council are facing various degrees of security challenges such as farmers and herders conflict, kidnapping, cultism and influx of migrants.

“The support of every stakeholder has become crucial at this moment, the council authority cannot do it all alone,” he said.

He said the current administration in the state had the protection of lives and property as utmost priority.

“As a council, we are ready to support other stakeholders to ensure that our people lived in peace in their localities.

“The council will continue to support the security agents in carrying out their duties, we are also open to suggestions on how best to tackle insecurity,” he said.

Some of the participants who spoke at the meeting, commended the council’s proactive measures in handling security issues.
