It has been reported that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has launched a manhunt for former Aviation Minister and Lawyer Mr. Femi Fani-Kayode.
This is in relation to the N2.5bn allegedly taken from the CBN and disbursed to PDP chieftains for election purposes.
The nation reports that the disbursement of the funds allegedly went as follows: Fani-Kayode (N840million); Goodluck Support Group (N320million); Achike Udenwa and Viola Onwuliri (N350million); Nenadi Usman (N140million); Olu Falae(N100m) and Okey Ezenwa (N100million).
According to the EFCC FFK has refused the invitation of the commission.
The Nation reports that a source said “All attempts by our operatives to locate the whereabouts of Mr. Fani-Kayode have failed because he has not only switched off his phones, he has virtually gone underground,
“We will fish him out wherever he is. Having been watch-listed by the EFCC, he cannot hide for long .”
From the disbursement formular it is clear that Femi Fani-Kayode received the most money, allegedly receiving N840million, paid in three tranches into his Zenith Bank, Maitama branch account with No.1004735721.
Femi Fani-Kayode had defended himself stating that he received the funds for the purposes of the campaign and that he had accounted for how it was spent. He also claimed that he had no idea who the source of the money was.
