The Director General of the Nigerian Broadcasting Commission (NBC), Emeka Mba was on Monday arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (NBC) over a N15 billion fraud.
He was reportedly picked up in Abuja and whisked away to the commission’s headquarters for questioning.
It was gathered that the anti-graft body had been looking into the affairs of NBC for the past month, which culminated into the ransacking of the broadcast regulator’s office last week by operatives of EFCC.
The operatives reportedly looked into the computer and hard-copy files in the Finance and Account Unit and took away some of the staff of the unit.
While it could not be established, it is believed that Mba was picked up as a result of revelations made by some of the unit’s staff earlier arrested by the EFCC.
