The mysterious death ravaging Kano State has claimed the Emir of Rano, Tafida Abubakar Ila; one of the fresh Emirates created by Governor Ganduje at the height of his rift with former Emir Lamido Sanusi II.
The recently promoted first class Emir died in a Kano Hospital from an unknown ailment according to his media aide, Fatihu Bichi who confirmed the monarch’s death on Saturday.
The late Emir was taken to the Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital after falling ill on Friday but was referred to Nassarawa Specialist Hospital due to a lack of oxygen tanks.

The Emir of Rano is the latest in a growing list of prominent Kano Indigenes that have died from a mysterious illness sweeping the State.
While many specialists have deduced that most of the deaths are related to undetected cases of COVID-19, the state government vehemently denies this; choosing to blame Malaria, heart attacks and hypertension instead.
The state currently has 311 confirmed COVID-19 cases while about 600 people have died mysteriously so far.
