My wife can’t cook or clean – Man begs court for divorce

2 Min Read

Mr Olarewaju Osasonna, a 42 year old man, has called for the dissolution of his marriage to his wife as a result of her dirtiness and inability to keep the home in order.

The man who gave his statement at the Ikole customary court in Ekiti said, “My wife is very dirty to the extent of packing used baby napkins with faeces for days in the house without washing them and this makes the house to smell always.”

He continued: “Again, she does not know how to cook good food, always making tasteless food and never adhere to correction on her dirtiness.

“Above all, she does not care for the well-being of our two children as a responsible mother should be doing,” Osasonna said.

The petitioner, also complained about the wife’s rudeness to his family members.

“She always curses and engages them in a fight during a misunderstanding between  them.”

He then prayed the court to dissolve the seven-year old marriage on grounds of dirtiness and inability to prepare decent  meals.

Mr Osasonna, also urged the court to grant him custody of the first child, and promised to pay the sum of #3000 monthly for the upkeep of the second child.

Kafayat, his wife, declined to cross-examine her husband, saying she would say her own story when she testifies.

The president of the court, Mrs Yemisi Ojo, adjourned the case till October 11, forth testimony of the wife.
