A Lagos-based father, Mr. Ede Tyndale, has been arrested in the Ikotun area of the state for having carnal knowledge of his daughter.

The 50-year-old was nabbed by the Family Support Unit of the Lagos State Police Command after his 19-year-old daughter confessed that he had been sleeping with her since she was 11.

She said her father usually beat her when she refused to give in to him and at other times threatened to kill her if she declined or revealed the matter to anyone.

“Yes, daddy has been sleeping with me since I was 11 years old. He deflowered me. Whenever I resisted, he would threaten to beat me. He also threatened to kill me if I refused or told anybody. I kept quiet because I was scared I could be killed,” she said.

Tyndale’s daughter said at a point she began to be rude to him which her mother noticed and beat her severely for.

She said she had been rude to him because she thought it would make him stop having sex with her.

She said it was when the rudeness did not stop despite the beating that her mother decided to engage her in a conversation.

It was during this conversation, she said, that she opened up to her mother, who reported to the police.

He added that Tyndale remained in police custody as the court adjourned the matter to today for hearing.
