Music journalist, Joey Akan, slapped at polling unit

Barely an hour after taking a ‘voter’s selfie’ at his polling unit, Joey Akan revealed on his Twitter how he got slapped by political thugs.

Thugs have destroyed ballot boxes and threw away the ballot papers at Oba Elegushi.

I collected a couple of slaps for fighting back before I got pulled from the melee, into a house for my safety.

Now I have to be smuggled out of the voting area because I have been marked.

The music journalist revealed how he never envisaged being slapped by a thug as he expected it from an artist, considering “all the ruckus” that he had caused in the music industry.

He said, “Also ironic that of all the ruckus I have caused in this city and the music industry, no be artist hand finally touch me.

Na Agbero own. ”

However, Akan made light of the bad voting experience.

I knew I was due for some hand-touching, but I expected better.

Perhaps a blow from a moisturised hand, with plenty English being spoken during the beat down.

But no. A titled man like me dey chop blow from the dregs of the Hoi Polloi.
