Mubi Recaptured from Boko Haram

Local Hunters, Civilian Joint Task Force have successfully recaptured the town of Mubi, Adamawa state that fell into the hands of the Boko Haram sect in October. Not less than 100 Boko Haram members were said to have been killed or injured by the hunters.

A source told Punch that the 234 Army Battalion as well as other security formations in the area, which fell into the hands of the insurgents, had been recovered and the soldiers were seen trooping in and out of the barracks and taking strategic positions and the development had given the people hope that the insurgents would be completely chased out of Mubi, Michika, and Madagali.

The insurgents seized Mubi in October and renamed it Madinatul Islam – City of Islam, imposed Sharia law which allowed them to carry out executions and amputations.
