Vanessa Trump, the wife of Donald Trump Jnr, has filed for divorce after 12 years of marriage.
The two announced their decision to split in a joint statement which was shared with E! News. The statement said;
“After 12 years of marriage, we have decided to go our separate ways. We will always have tremendous respect for each other and our families. We have five beautiful children together and they remain our top priority. We ask for your privacy during this time.”
Donald and Vanessa share five children together, Kai, 10, Donald III, 9, Tristan, 6, Spencer, 5, and Chloe, 3.
According to reports, Vanessa filed in a Manhattan court on Thursday and also filed for an uncontested proceeding, which indicates a custody battle will not take place.
While no reasons have been given for the split, there have been reports that indicate that things have been strained for a while and they only got worse after Trump took the White House which meant Donald Jnr had to travel a lot.
There was also the issue with the white powder which was contained in a letter opened by Mrs. Trump. While the powder was harmless, Vanessa Trump was hospitalized as a preventative measure, along with her mother, who was there when she opened the envelope.
