Mr Real Calls Out D’banj and Mr Eazi, Alleges Unsettled Debts for Collaborations

2 Min Read

Nigerian singer Okafor Uchenna Victor, popularly known as Mr Real, has taken to the latest episode of the Terms And Conditions podcast to express his dissatisfaction with colleagues D’banj and Mr Eazi over alleged unpaid debts for collaborative projects.

Mr Real

In a candid revelation, Mr Real claimed that despite contributing significantly to their respective songs, ‘Issa Banger’ and ‘Overload,’ D’banj and Mr Eazi have failed to settle him, and communication channels seem to be severed.

During the podcast, Mr Real outlined his grievances, stating, “I have a song with D’banj. I was the one that brought my producer, Cracker, and Slimcase on board, and we made that song ‘Issa Banger’. The song blew. And we shot the video with love and all. I’m not saying I’m being ungrateful for what you’ve done. But give me what is rightly mine. It’s my right.

Lamenting the absence of royalties for the songs being used in various movies, including American films, Mr Real emphasized the need for fair compensation. He also addressed the collaboration with Mr Eazi on ‘Overload,’ revealing that there was no contract or split sheet, and he received nothing for his contribution.

In a plea for equitable treatment, Mr Real expressed frustration with the lack of response from his colleagues. He stated, “And the truth is that these people know what they are doing. The same Mr Eazi called me for another feature with Legendury Beatz. There is this saying that when you do a favor, you don’t expect them to do something in return. Omo, me I dey expect o. When I do you a favor, I expect you to render the same to me.

Highlighting the financial aspirations shared by emerging artists, Mr Real urged his colleagues to consider the mutual benefits of collaborations.
