A renowned Yoruba actor, Bolaji Amusan, popularly called `Mr Latin’ as his stage name, on Friday identified discipline, integrity, commitment and perseverance, as the virtues needed to succeed in life.
`Mr Latin’ said this at the ongoing summer camp at Akin Ogunpola Model College, in Ewekoro Local Government Area of Ogun.
He said that despite his coming from a humble background, he was able to rise to the top of his career through hard work and doggedness.
He said that there was no short cut to success, adding: “I am from a poor family. I did not get to where I am today by accident. I worked hard and am committed to what I do.
“There is no short cut to success and, as children, you should also be determined; especially, in your academics and whatever you find yourselves doing, so that you can be great in life.

`Mr Latin’ commended Gov. Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun for giving his approval for the organizer of the programme for children in the state.
He said that the programme had made the children to be positively engaged instead of dissipating their energies on social vices during the long holiday.
“The experience they will gain here will always remain evergreen in their minds.’’
Also, the entertainment industry has been described as a goldmine which can turn one’s fortune around, if properly harnessed.
Hafiz Oyetoro, a lecturer at the Adeniran Ogunsanya College of Education, Ijanikin, Lagos State, said his during an interactive session with participants at the Ogun State Government organised summer camp.
The artiste also known as `Saka’ in the entertainment circle advised the young ones to ensure they had sound education by taking their studies very seriously.
Saka also advised them to be disciplined, committed, and serious minded and God fearing in their endeavours.
The theatre practitioner pleaded with parents not to force their choice of course of studies on their children.
He commended the state government for organising the camping, saying it would open a vista for social interaction and intellectual improvement among the participants. (NAN)
