Nigerian comedian, Freedom Okpetoritse Atsepoyi, popularly known as Mr Jollof, has extended a public apology to singer Duncan Mighty and DJ Barbie after a recent controversy surrounding his concert in Warri, Delta State.
The saga began when Mr Jollof accused Duncan Mighty of failing to honor his contract and perform at the event, despite being paid a sum of N3 million. The comedian expressed disappointment and demanded a refund from the Port Harcourt-born singer.
However, the situation took a turn as Mr Jollof received a refund from Duncan Mighty, prompting the comedian to publicly apologize for his earlier remarks.
In a video message shared on his Instagram page, Mr Jollof clarified the circumstances that led to his initial call-out. He admitted that he was wrongly advised, leading to the misunderstanding. Mr Jollof acknowledged that his threats were mere rantings and requested forgiveness from Duncan Mighty.
“Bros, abeg no vex. We youths we are quick to react due to stigmatisation. I didn’t believe you would scam me but the advices I was receiving from people was why I called you out. Please don’t be angry with me. All my threats were mere rantings. Forgive me, I’m not perfect”. Mr Jollof stated in his apology.
Moreover, the comedian extended an apology to DJ Barbie, who also faced criticism for not showing up at the event after receiving payment. Mr Jollof revealed that he had received a refund of the N600,000 sent to DJ Barbie and expressed regret for any inconveniences caused.
