Manchester United target Jose Mourinho is in talks with two Real Madrid superstars about a switch to Old Trafford, Sport reports.
Mourinho, who was sacked by Chelsea in December following a string of poor results and talks of dressing room unrest, is believed to be in pole position to land the former Tottehham duo of Gareth Bale and Luka Modric.
However, Sport claims the deals depend upon him getting the United job, as current Tottenham manager, Mauricio Pochettino is also in the picture to replace Louis van Gaal at the end of the season.
United bosses are also believed to be ready to hand Mourinho as much as £300 million to overhaul the team.
Mourinho is also believed to be eyeing French defender, Rafael Varane, who has been struggling to hold down a starting shirt at the Santiago Bernabeu.
While United have twice tried to sign Bale from Madrid, getting Mourinho may improve their chance of landing the Welshman.
