Mourinho After Losing To Liverpool: “I Have Nothing To Say”

2 Min Read
Jose Mourinho

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho said he had nothing to say when asked about his team’s performance that led to the loss against Liverpool on Saturday.

The Blues had gone into the game blazing, with Ramirez putting them ahead in the 4th minute. But the lead was short-lived after Brazilian import Philippe Coutinho drew level for Liverpool seconds before the end of the first half.

An impressive Coutinho slotted in his second of the game in the 74th minute before substitute Christian Benteke took the game beyond Chelsea with an 83rd minute effort.

However, Mourinho refused to be dragged into blaming his players for the 6th loss in 11 EPL games this season, saying he had “nothing to say” when asked just after the game to rate his players’ performance in the game.

At the post-match conference, he was a little more obliging though, as he said: “The players, they tried. You could feel the attitude. You could feel the desire and that the game was 50/50.

“The recognition of our work is just by getting results. We have some players that are really sad in the dressing room and I am full of respect for them but we see match after match that they are not getting the respect they deserve.

“I am really, really sorry with that lack of respect for professionals.”

When he was asked if to explain what he meant by lack of respect, he said that journalists needed to see the game from a different angle.

: “You (journalists) are all intelligent guys. If you want to write, you write.

“Next press conference I will bring you nice glasses, maybe you see the game in a better way,” the controversial Mourinho stated.
