Stephanie Otobo, the Canada-based singer who claimed to have had an affair with Apostle Johnson Suleman, has said her mother was threatened to beg the cleric.
Otobo had alleged that the general overseer of Omega Fire Ministries Worldwide had promised to marry her but failed even after the introduction to her family, the Cable reports.
She also claimed that he gave her a concoction to drink which flushed out her pregnancy.
But her mother had on Thursday said she hadn’t seen her daughter in the last three years.
The woman popularly called Mama Tope denied accompanying her daughter to the headquarters of Suleman’s church for an introduction ceremony.
Mama Tope said she had never been to the church nor met Apostle Suleman.
She said that those manipulating her daughter against the man of God would be exposed.
She also expressed willingness to apologize to Suleman while appealing to him to forgive her daughter.
But Otobo, in a video, has said that her mother’s life is in danger.
She said Mama Tope was coerced into pleading with Suleman.
“I’m just coming from the airport, I just landed in Toronto. And I heard that my mom made a video or a statement. So I called her and she said that she was being threatened and arrested twice,” she said.
“This is what Apostle Suleman is doing. He should come to court. I want Nigerians to know that my mom’s life is in danger right now.
“This man is threatening us, my mom and family.”
Otobo was on Monday arraigned before a Tinubu magistrate’s court in Lagos.
Her and Wisdom Godstime were arraigned for intent to steal and blackmail Suleman.
They were charged with three counts of conspiracy, blackmail and threat to life.
The trial will commence on Thursday, April 27.
