The Rivers State Government has faulted the Federal Government for allegedly abandoning most of its institutions in the state.
Secretary to the State Government, Dr Tammy Danagogo, said that the institutions were therefore in dire need of attention.
According to a statement signed by Juliana Masi, Press Officer, Office of the SSG, Danagogo spoke Tuesday while inspecting the long-abandoned Umuagbai Police Station at Ndoki in Oyibo Local Government Area.
The SSG said that the Nyesom Wike administration in Rivers committed to policies and programmes that would promote security of lives and property in the state.
He noted that Wike was determined to rebuild the police station and all such facilities as security remained paramount in the scheme of activities and actions of the governor.

“There is no doubt that our Federal institutions in the country, particularly in this State, are in dire need of attention. Our Governor will continue to work to ensure that no institution relevant to the needs of our people is neglected,” he added.
The Herald learnt that the police station which was built in 1971 has been abandoned since the ’90s.
