Bayelsa State Police Command has arrested a monarch in the Odioma community of the Brass local government area of the state in connection with the kidnap of the President’s 65-year-old cousin, Inengite Nitabai.
Five other men have also been arrested in connection with the case.
Nitabai was abducted by 10 armed man gang on February 23 at his residence in Otuoke community in Ogbia local government area of the state.
The kidnappers demanded a N500 million settlement for the octogenarian. The family has been unable to raise the funds so far.
Police Public Relations Officer of the state police command, Alex Akhigbe, confirmed on Monday that six suspects, including the royal father, had been arrested in connection with Nitabai’s kidnap.
