Mohbad: ‘You’re taking a huge risk not retaining a lawyer’ – Inibehe Effiong tells upcoming artists

2 Min Read

Amid the controversy generated by the demise of Mohbad, a human rights lawyer, Inibehe Effiong, has advised budding artists to retain the services of a lawyer for their own good.

Effiong said this in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, on Thursday.

Mohbad, whose real name is Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, died on Tuesday under unclear circumstances.

He was buried on Wednesday in the Ikorodu area of Lagos State, as friends, fans and other music lovers paid him tributes.

Since his demise, Mohbad’s disagreement with his former label boss, Naira Marley, has been a hot topic of discussion, with old and fresh videos of their fallout surfacing on the Internet.

This comes amid allegations of bullying and harassment of Mohbad levelled against Naira Marley and other members of the Marlian Music family.

In an apparent reaction, Effiong advised upcoming artists and small business owners to retain a lawyer to avoid being shortchanged.

“As an upcoming artist, you should have and retain a lawyer as an integral part of your career.

“If you’re into entertainment or any business for that matter, and you do not have a lawyer, you’re taking a huge risk that may cost you irreparable loss.

“This advice has saved lives,” he said.
