Popular media personality Moet Abebe has recently opened up about her past failed engagement in a candid interview with renowned media personality Chude Jideonwo. She bravely shared the details of her experience, revealing that she could have been married by now if things had worked out with her ex-fiancé.
During the interview, Moet disclosed that she made the difficult decision to end the relationship due to the presence of abuse. She realized that she deserved better for herself and did not want to continue in a violent and unhealthy relationship. Reflecting on her journey, she expressed, “I could have been a married woman right now. I was engaged, but it didn’t work out. Also, it was a violent relationship. And I realized that is not what I want for myself.“
Moet went on to shed light on the extent of the abusive relationship, sharing that she endured it for approximately two and a half years. However, she emphasized that the turning point came when she acknowledged that remaining in the relationship meant neglecting her own well-being and self-love. She explained, “It wasn’t even a thing that someone would have to come and drag me out of the relationship. I needed to realize that this cannot be you loving yourself. Your being here means that you don’t want the best for yourself. And that was how I left the relationship.“
