The Nigerian Police has reacted to the resumption of activities by the MMM Nigeria online financial scheme adding that it had not made any arrests despite warnings from the Central Bank of Nigeria, Federal Government and other financial regulatory bodies against participating in the scheme.
Speaking on the resumption of suspended activities by the scheme, the Nigerian Police said it has not been given any directive from the government to arrest operators or participants of the scheme.
The Nigerian Police Force Public Relations Officer, Donald Awunah on Saturday further added that the force had not received any formal complaint of fraud due to the scheme.
Speaking to Sunday Punch, Donald Awunah, a Commissioner of Police said: “We are not going after the operators because there is no complaint from anyone that he was swindled by them.
“No one has complained against them, so we have no reason to go after them. Also, there is no directive from the government to arrest the operators or shut them down.”
