Even as the Senate has concluded the screening of ministerial nominees sent to it by President Muhammadu Buhari, discussions concerning some of the names have continued unabated.
However, the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Chief John Odigie Oyegun has expressed his satisfaction with the quality of names pushed forward by President Buhari.
According to him, the President chose professionals and technocrats who could assist him in the onerous task of repositioning the nation.
He said this on Wednesday at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja when the Alumni of the University of Ibadan led by Dr Kemi Emina, its President, paid him a courtesy visit.
While stating that the quality of the ministerial nominees surpassed his expectations, he said they must hit the ground running when they are eventually officially sworn in and assigned portfolios.
Oyegun expressed disappointment at the scale of problems in every sector of the country that the newly-appointed ministers will face, but noted that he was confident that they would prove themselves up to the task.
