Mikel Obi blames Eagles defeat on ‘bad pitch’

While we await reports on NFF’s decision on Stephen Keshi, lamentations on the poor performance of the Eagles are yet to subdue.
The situation in the camp is worse as the players were booed by angry fans at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja on Sunday where they arrived in preparation for the reverse leg of the AFCON 2015 qualifier.

They will host rival Sudan on Wednesday at the Abuja stadium.

Most of the players issued apology on their loss and promised to be at their best in their next three matches.

Chelsea midfielder Mikel Obi, a veteran in the National team, whose goal was ruled offside in the match against Sudan, has faulted the Sudanese stadium as the cause of their down throw.

“Sudan deliberately took us there (Khartoum stadium in Sudan) because they know we play on better pitches,” Mikel lamented.

“Where we played on Saturday is worse than when we were playing street football. CAF must act to stop nonsense like this from happening.”

He adds: “For those saying we don’t deserve to be in MOR, I think that is unfortunate & we must stop spreading that negativity
