“I’m Back”, Young fighters jittery as ‘Iron’ Mike Tyson hints ring comeback (Video)

2 Min Read

Former two-time heavyweight champion Mike Tyson has hinted he wants to make a comeback to the boxing ring.

The 53-year-old former knockout artiste recently posted a video via his account on popular social media platform, Instagram, showing him in intense training with his personal coach.

In the video showed ‘Iron’ Mike in a training session throwing vicious hooks and uppercuts while displaying youthful speed and agility despite his age.

Tyson’s last professional fight came in 2005, when he lost to Kevin McBride. Iron Mike was undefeated in 1990 when he lost the heavyweight championship to Buster Douglas, in one of the biggest upsets in sports history.

It has taken the former boxer 15 years after his last professional bout to consider returning to the ring.

“I’ve been working out, I’ve been trying to get in the ring, I think I’m going to box some exhibitions and get in shape,” Tyson said during a chat with rapper T.I. on Instagram. “I want to go to the gym and get in shape to be able to box three- or four-round exhibitions for some charities and stuff.”

Once known as “the baddest man on the planet,” Tyson looks just as fast and ferocious as he did in his heyday. In his prime, Tyson was arguably the most intimidating heavyweight boxer to climb into a ring, with 44 of his 50 victories by knockout.

At the end of the 26-second long video, Iron Mike  was quoted as saying ‘I’m back’, indicating that he is preparing to make a return to the ring.
