After a history-making weekend at cinemas world, Black Panther has got the endorsement of former US First Lady, Michelle Obama.
Obama expressed her support for Marvel’s first major black superhero movie in a tweet on her verified Twitter handle on Monday.
Black Panther took home $192 million in North American theatres and $404 million globally in its opening weekend, raising hopes for greater minority representation in Hollywood, and the former First Lady recognised the spiral effect on minority communities in the US.
She tweeted, “Congrats to the entire #blackpanther team! Because of you, young people will finally see superheroes that look like them on the big screen. I loved this movie and I know it will inspire people of all backgrounds to dig deep and find the courage to be heroes of their own stories.”
