Juventus captain and goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon has compared teammate Paul Pogba to Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.
He said this in an interview ahead of Juve’s UEFA Champions League Group D match against English premier league leaders, Manchester United.
“Nobody better in the world,” than Pogba, he said “And I include Messi and Ronaldo in that.”
Buffon expressed the belief that Pogba was worth every penny of the “crazy money” that clubs like Manchester, Chelsea and Barcelona were willing to pay to pry the 22-year-old French playmaker away from the Old Lady.
The skipper believes Pogba has what it takes to put up a match winning performance against the City side which has won every game in their five premier league matches so far.
“He needs to be our leader with his quality and technique,” Buffon said of Pogba at a news conference in Manchester.
According to him: “We’re all really enthusiastic about this game, first because it’s our first time at this stadium and then because City are one of the candidates to win the Champions League this season, which means it’s a good test for us to see where we are in Europe.”
