Nollywood actress Ini Edo has sparked a conversation on gender dynamics in relationships, stating that some men are intimidated by overly successful women. In a recent episode of TokeMoments with media personality Toke Makinwa, Edo expressed her belief that men, in general, prefer women who embrace traditional gender roles.
According to the actress, men may feel threatened by women’s strength and independence, as they may see it as competition to their ego. Edo suggested that, in the eyes of some men, successful women might be perceived as less inclined to perform traditional roles such as cooking and cleaning.
She shared her perspective on the matter, saying, “Naturally, men want to see women not so overly successful just so that they can pull you around, you can be the woman, cook and clean and do all the basic things that they’ve grown up to know is expected of women.”
Ini Edo emphasized that despite her success, she prefers a dynamic where she walks beside her man, and he provides guidance and protection. The actress revealed that she values the traditional role of a man as the head of the home, emphasizing her commitment to the idea of partnership rather than dominance in a relationship.
