Welcome to the “Go Topless Day”, an annual event which sees women bare their breasts to promote equality between the sexes.
Go Topless day is celebrated annually on the Sunday closest to Women’s Equality Day and is about fighting for the right for women to bare their breasts in public places.
It was celebrated in different parts of the United States with about 50 women and men walking about topless in Los Angeles behind a giant, inflatable pink breast that had the phrase “equal topless rights” written on it.
Naturally onlookers gawked at the spectacle as groups of women walked around topless in different parts of America.
According to Nadine Gray, president of GoTopless , it is her hope that events such as these will take away the shock and awe of people seeing female breasts in public.
“This push for women to go topless in the 21st century is as strong as women wanting to vote in the 20th century,” she said. “It may be sensual, but it’s not illegal to be sensual.”
Also according to Kia Sinclair who is an event organizer for GoTopless Day at Hampton Beach in New Hampshire.
“It’s in hopes to show people that it can be normal, that it’s really not a big deal and it’s not about getting attention or protesting,” she said
