Aisha Jummai Al-Hassan is one of President Muhammadu Buhari’s ministerial nominees, during her screening at the Senate today, she said the fact that she has 12 Grandchildren is the only thing that she didn’t include in her CV.
Al-Hassan, 56, is a loyal member of the All Progressives Congress, she was the first female to clinch the governorship ticket on the platform of the APC in Taraba state.
Al-Hassan, a Mumuye is a lawyer by training; she once acted as Taraba State Attorney General and Commissioner of Justice.
She was the first woman to be appointed as Secretary FCT judicial council and later appointed the Chief Registrar of the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja on 17 December 2003. After she retired from service she went into business.
During her screening, she debunked claims that she was appointed on merit and she blamed the bar and the bench for corruption that has eaten into the fabric of the judiciary.
