American rapper Meek Mill has expressed interest in buying TikTok, the popular social media app facing a potential ban in the United States.
The offer comes after President Joe Biden enacted a law in April 2024, mandating TikTok’s Chinese owner, ByteDance, to either sell the platform or shut it down within a month by January 19.
In a tweet, Meek Mill wrote, “Sell TikTok to me.” This development follows TikTok’s appeal at the US Supreme Court and a meeting between TikTok CEO Shou Zi Chew and President-elect Donald Trump, who has expressed a “soft spot” for the app.
Meek Mill’s proposal has sparked mixed reactions online, with many questioning his financial capability to purchase the platform.
