The Mater Dei Communication, a moral rebranding group in Enugu has urged Nigerians to be patient with President Muhammadu Buhari’s style of leadership as the country would soon overcome its challenges.

The Country Director of the Centre, Evangelist Nnamdi Okpara made the call in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Saturday in Enugu.

According to him, the present government is faced with a lot of challenges especially, insecurity which act as major setback to government performances.

He appealed to them not to be in a hurry on whatever challenges they were going through in the country presently.

“I am excited that our democracy is growing in spite the challenges we have as a nation and I want Nigeria to know that democracy is still the best form of government.

“Government is gradually moving at its pace and they would have done better if negative vices in the country are curtailed.

“They should find lasting solution to insurgency and other challenges in the country so they can perform better,” Okpara said.

Okpara noted that citizens grumbled due to hunger and unemployment rate but urged them to be patient in spite of the challenges.

He tasked government on taking drastic measures to ensure the  economy bounced back.

The director added that the Federal  system of government Nigeria operated was too expensive to maintain, which had eaten deeply into the economy.

Okpara suggested a  cut in  expenses by  retaining the  unicameral legislature at the Federal level and scrapping the state legislature.

“We copied American system of government which is too bogus to maintain,” he said.
