Governor Aminu Masari has disclosed that the abducted students of Government Science Secondary School (GSSS), Kankara in Katsina State have been taken to a Zamfara forest.
The Katsina governor spoke in an interview with BBC Hausa on Wednesday night, saying he got the information but did not disclose how.
“They are in Zamfara forests, we have got the information,” he disclosed.
However, the governor said his administration was negotiating with the abductors to ensure safe return of the students.
Masari said, “We are negotiating with those that have abducted the students and we want to ensure that we secure their release.”
Like the Defence Headquarters, the Katsina governor said it was untrue that Boko Haram carried out the abduction.
