Twenty-four-year-old Carrie Miller, a Johnson County Central Spanish Teacher accused of sexually assaulting a 15 year student, was in Johnson County Court Wednesday. A judge set her bond at ten percent of $25,000.
Miller turned herself into authorities at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday and was arrested for sexual assault and enticement through electronic devices of a 15 year old male.
According to court documents filed Wednesday, Miller is accused of having sexual contact with the student approximately 50-60 times in the fall of 2012.
The probable cause affidavit says the two routinely exchanged text messages, graphic photographs and inappropriate conversations.
Several of the alleged sexual encounters took place in Nemaha County at an abandoned farmstead and were often arranged by cell phones. Because of this, Miller faces more charges in Nemaha County.
Miller’s next court date is set for Feb. 26.
According to the Johnson County Attorney, the possible assault happened in the fall of 2012, but was only recently brought to light as of Jan. 27, 2014.
Miller was married to a Lincoln man at the time of the alleged sexual assault. She was married in September 2011 and the couple filed for divorce in February 2013.
