Equities on the NSE continued their upward climb today as the All Share Index closed higher for the third straight session. The Index appreciated by 3.10% with a total of 4,243 deals taking place, closing at 31,403.75 basis points as against 30,458.86 basis points from the last trading session. 336,160,069 shares were traded today, a decrease of -49.70% from the last trading session and they were valued at ₦3.03bn against ₦4.76bn from yesterday, a decrease of -36.25%. Market Capitalization stood at ₦10.763 trillion at the close of trading today.
It was a positive day for the exchange as eight of the nine indexes appreciated. The Industrial Index appreciated by 3.21% the most by any index closely followed by the NSE 30 which appreciated by 3.12%. The Alternative Securities Market Index remained unchanged at 1,210.13 basis points.
The top gainers list was led by Forte Oil for the second day in a row as it gained ₦8.95 to close at ₦202.95. Dangcem appreciated by ₦8.50 to close at ₦180.50, while NB, Guinness and 7UP gained ₦6.05, ₦5.93, ₦5 respectively. On the flipside NNFM led the laggards, shedding -₦0.73, while Berger, Champion, NAHCO and Sterlnbank shed -₦0.49, -₦0.10, -₦0.10 and -₦0.07 respectively.
Continsure, Zenithbank, WAPIC, Access and Guaranty were the most active stocks traded by volume today.
