A three-storeyed building housing a primary school at Ita Faji, Lagos Island, collapsed around 10am today, with fears that many pupils may have been killed.
It was said that the school is on the building’s last floor.
Speaking on the incident, a resident of the area, Prince Adams, said no fewer than 10 pupils had been removed from the rubble so far.
“It is terrible. Parents are crying. I can’t withstand the gorry sight,” he added.
The spokesperson for the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, Kehinde Adebayo, also confirmed the collapse, noting that emergency officials were already on ground.
