Many have been killed following coordinated attacks on commercial banks in Ikere-Ekiti, Ekiti State on Wednesday, December 13.
Eyewitnesses say the robbers, who were armed to the teeth, arrived the banks shooting sporadically into the air.
While the number of the those killed could not be ascertained as at the time of writing this report, Politics Nigeria can confirm that some of customers were injured during the attack.
It was gathered that social and business activities in the town were paralysed for several hours as human and vehicular movements stopped while the robbery was going on.
The residents said the robbers used dynamite to blow open the entrance of the banks and cart away unspecified amounts of money running into millions of naira.
