Manchester United’s Daley Blind suffers a knee injury

1 Min Read

Manchester United’s Daley Blind has added to Louis van Gaal’s injury worries after limping out of the Netherland’s Euro 2016 qualifier with Latvia on Sunday.

Blind was forced off after just 19 minutes at the Amsterdam Arena after appearing to jar a knee in a full-blooded challenge with an opposing player.

The player didn’t need a stretcher but wasn’t walking freely when he was replaced by Feyenoord’s Jordy Clasie.

United’s boss van Gaal has already seen his squad stretched by injuries in recent weeks, so much so that Blind was forced to play centre-back in the red Devils last outing, the 1-0 home win over Crystal Palace.

Additionally, having seen David De Gea dislocate a finger while on duty with Spain last week, van Gaal will be hoping that Blind hasn’t picked up anything too serious – particularly with Arsenal coming up on Saturday.

Already the Dutch boss is struggling for defenders, with Marcos Rojo, Phil Jones, Rafael, Jonny Evans and Michael Carrick already out or struggling to make the trip to the Emirates Stadium.
